Nalana uses Blender as its underlying 3D engine. Everything else — the AI layer, the interface, the command system, and the backend — is built and owned by Nalana, Inc.
Blender is the open source 3D creation suite that powers Nalana's geometry, rendering, and scene management. It is copyright © 2002–2026 Blender Foundation and contributors, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL).
The GPL requires that any modifications to Blender be released as open source under the same license. Nalana's fork of Blender — which contains our modifications to the 3D engine — is publicly available here:
The GPL applies only to our Blender fork. Nalana's AI system, natural language interface, backend services, and proprietary features are separate works and are not covered by the GPL.
All other parts of Nalana — the AI that understands your commands, the interface you interact with, and the cloud backend — are proprietary software developed and owned by Nalana, Inc. These are not open source and are governed by our End User License Agreement.
